To you my dearest,
Are you feeling fine and well on this gorgeous summer morning?
I'm just fine thanks to your graceful regards.
I am so happy to get your letters with lots of encouragement and cheers.
So I gladly send my messages to you in the early morning and start
another beautiful day off with you.
Life is wonderful, full of miracles, even can I breathe the same fresh air just
you've shared with me!
Once I was in New York City, called the Big Apple, with my wife and some friends.
We stayed two days and three nights at New York Hotel located in the 8th Ave.34th St.
in the midst of one summer in 1991. Our rooms were on the 38th floor we can always
hold the grandeur of the Empire State Building at our eye-hight sights day and night.
One morning I woke up at around 5 o'clock a.m. and saw the building, beautifully,
even mysteriously illuminating at the dawn of a quiet Sunday morning.
And the Building, situated in the 5th Ave.34th St. you can walk straight to the place in
ten or more minutes from our hotel, so I walked alone to the Building and on the wall
of one entrance hall you can find the stained glass - brilliant color-tinted - mosaic
pictures named " Seven Greatest Wonders in the World."
In my memory the first one was the Pyramid with Sphinx in Egypt and the last one,
the Empire State Building of the 20th Century, all arranged in periodic order, which
were donated by the Optical Engineering Department of Ohio State Univ.
Marvelous! I was fascinated with the color and beauty.
Here's more details about the place.
New York's famous Empire State Building, a New York City Landmark and a National
Historic Landmark, soars more than a quarter of a mile into the atmosphere above the
heart of Manhattan. Located on the 86th floor, 1,050 feet (320 meters) above the City's
bustling streets, the Observatory offers panoramic views from both within a glass
enclosed pavilion and from the surrounding open-air promenade.
Since the Observatory opened to the public in 1931, almost 100 million visitors have
thrilled to the awe-inspiring vision of the City beneath them. Each year over 3.5 million
people are whisked to the 86 th floor to be where Cary Grant waited in vain for Deborah
Kerr in ' An Affair to Remember', while Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan had their fateful
meeting in the movie 'Sleepless Night in Seattle'.
The building, one of the main tourist attractions when visiting New York City, offers an
abundant variety of activities for its visitors. one can tour the Observatory, 365 days per
year, day and night, rain or shine, for breathtaking views of Manhattan and beyond.
Empire State Building!! A must-see for all tourists!! http://www.esbnyc.com to buy
tickets - it is VERY inconvenient to wait in line to buy tickets when you get here!

Brooklyn Bridge
From the initial petitions to being open to traffic the Brooklyn Bridge took over 81 years
to reach completion. In 1802 State Legislature receives a petition to construct a bridge
over the East River. In 1857 the New York Legislature considers a bill to build a bridge
over the East River, and not until 1866 does the construction bill pass. Construction
doesn't begin until January1870 after President Grant signs bill, approving bridge in 1869.
Work begins Jan. 1870 and the suspension bridge spanning 1595 ft opens to traffic
May 24, 1883 at 2:00 pm. During construction there are 30 deaths associated with
the bridge.
Thank you for visiting!
Always with you,
Richard
