Take a walk to the world! "Flower of Scotland" & "Scotland Again" sung by Moira Kerr Filmed while working up at the Awesome Applecross Radio Mast Site. Flower of Scotland Writer and composer Roy Williamson Flower of Scotland (Scottish Gaelic: Flùr na h-Alba, Scots: Flouer o Scotland) is a Scottish song, used frequently at special occasions and sporting events. Although there is no official national anthem of Scotland, Flower of Scotland is one of a number of songs which unofficially fulfil this role. It was written by Roy Williamson of the folk group The Corries, and presented in 1967, and refers to the victory of the Scots, led by Robert the Bruce, over England's Edward II at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. 1. O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your like again That fought and died for Your wee bit hill and glen. And stood against him, Proud Edward's army, And sent him homeward To think again. 2. The hills are bare now, And autumn leaves Lie thick and still O'er land that is lost now, Which those so dearly held That stood against him, Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward To think again. 3. Those days are past now And in the past They must remain But we can still rise now And be the nation again! That stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward To think again. 4. O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your like again That fought and died for Your wee bit hill and glen. And stood against him, Proud Edward's army, And sent him homeward To think again. Celtic Woman - Caledonia Singer: Lisa Kelly I don't know if you can see The changes that have come over me In these last few days I've been afraid That I might drift away I've been telling old stories, singing songs That make me think about where I've come from That's the reason why I seem So far away today [Chorus:] Let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia, you're calling me, now I'm going home But if I should become a stranger Know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Now I have moved and I've kept on moving Proved the points that I needed proving Lost the friends that I needed losing Found others on the way I have kissed the fellas and left them crying Stolen dreams, yes, there's no denying I have traveled hard, sometimes with conscience flying Somewhere with the wind [Chorus] Now I'm sitting here before the fire The empty room, the forest choir The flames have cooled, don't get any higher They've withered, now they've gone But I'm steady thinking, my way is clear And I know what I will do tomorrow When hands have shaken, the kisses float Then I will disappear [Chorus] Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Celtic Woman - Caledonia (Live at Morris Performing Arts Center - 2013) I love this song by Dougie MacLean and had to learn it. I first found the song printed in the University of Edinburgh "Folksoc Collection" book. My Daughter was a graduate student at Uni Edinburgh and I went to a Folksoc session with her and bought the song book. Caledonia is the Latin name used by the Romans for Scotland. This is a very famous song that is dear to the Scot's and I hope I did it justice. It is a great song about a great place. The video is slide show of pictures from my trips to Scotland and my daughter's graduation at the end. The whistle I used in the recording is one that a bought in Scotland and the Harp is MIDI instrument being played by my nice Dell computer. I hope you like the song.(Jamie 2010. 02. 28) Do you remember we went fly-fishing to the Great Glen?
