To J With Love
Roseman Bridge, Winterset, Iowa
To you, my dearest,
I have wondered why there are so many covered bridges
in the United States while I can hardly find any of those
here in Korea and any other part of the world.
The first time I saw a covered bridge was in the film
The Bridges of Madison County and the name was..
Roseman Bridge in Winterset Iowa.. one of the most
romantic places in the world could I imagine.
My wife and I were actually planning to visit the place
sometime in the future when I've retired, like the lovers
in the movies. If she were still here with me, our dream
would have come true and one more place in addition.
Mark Twain's "The adventures of Tom Sawyer and
Huckleberry Finn.. and we would have enjoyed the
Life on the Mississippi.
So I had mailed to my friends around there in US,
and I'd got their answers with full of enthusiasm.
Dear Richard,
I was born in Winterset, Iowa. Most of the town
"is my family". I had the chance to take my Mom
back the month before she passed away with Cancer.
I have many pictures of 'The Bridges' in Madison
County. It is more spectacular when you are feet away.
I even carved my name and my husbands in the bridge.
If ever you or anyone have a chance to travel to
Winterset, it is like going back in time.
It would be very memorable.
And "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year again!"
Dear Richard,
I am happy to see a picture from so close to home.
Thanks. It is very nice to know that someone else
out there thinks that this is a very beautiful place.
I was originally from Boaz Alabama. and recently
moved to this place. At that time I travelled this area
of Winterset of Iowa and could never pass without
stopping and enjoying the view, plus I have some
very dear friends there, and we would always go to
visit it. Thanks again for some good memories.
If you come someday, I'll be your hostess and
my house, also your house free to stay.......

If you'd like supper again,
"When white moths are on the wing"
come by tonight after you're finished.
Anytime is fine.

* OST 12곡중 남은 두 곡
1. I SEE YOUR FACE BEFORE ME - JOHNNY HARTMAN
In a world of glitter and glow
In a world of tinsel and show
The unreal from the real thing it's hard to know
I discovered somebody who
Could be truly worthy and true
Yes, I found my ideal thing when I met you...
(Chorus)
I see your face before me
You are my only dream
There is your face before me
You are my only theme
Now if, if you could see the magic
If you could see me too
There would be nothing tragic
In all my dreams of you
It doesn't matter where you are
'Cause I can see how fair you are
I close my eyes and there you are
Always
If you could see the magic
If you could see me too
There would be nothing tragic
In all my dreams of you
Would that my love, would haunt you so
Knowing, knowing I want you so
I can't erase your beautiful face before me...
I can't erase your beautiful face before me
2. IT WAS ALMOST LIKE A SONG - JOHNNY HARTMAN
Once in every life
Someone comes along
And you came to me
It was almost like a song
You were in my arms
Just where you belong
We were so in love
It was almost like a song
January through December
It was such a perfect year
Then the flame became a dying ember
All at once you weren't here
Now my broken heart
Cries for you each night
And It's almost like a song
But it's much too sad to write
It was almost like a song
But it's much too sad to write
It was almost like a song
But it's too sad to write
♬ Dust in the Wind - Sara Brightman
I close my eyes
Only for a moment
And the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground
Though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Ah Ah Ah
Don't hang on
Nothing lasts forever
but the earth and sky
It slips away
All your money
Won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind

THE SONG OF WANDERING AENGUS 방랑하는 잉거스의 노래 - W.B. Yeats(1865–1939) I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing, 흰 나방 날고 And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream And caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire aflame, But something rustled on the floor, And some one called me by my names: It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name and ran And faded through the brightening air. Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done The silver apples of the moon, 달의 은빛사과 The golden apples of the sun.
